South Korea Visa Requirement

Requirements

  • Original new passport with a minimum validity of 7 months before departure, and the old passport.

  • 2 color photos, size 3.5 x 4.5cm, with a white background. You must not wear glasses, hats, soft lenses, or accessories.

  • Photocopy of ID card (KTP), Family Card (KK), Marriage/Birth Certificate, Name Change/Indonesian Citizenship Certificate (if any), or the official receipt for an ID card application.

  • An employment sponsorship letter in English, on company letterhead with the company’s address and phone number, which must be stamped. For business owners, attach the SIUP (Trade Business License), NIB (Business Identification Number), and Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) approval. If the applicant is a housewife, a sponsorship letter from the husband (in English) is required.

  • Personal annual tax form 1721-A1 from the last year, stamped and signed by the company, OR a complete personal annual tax form 1770 (approximately 10 pages long), which must be signed.

  • It is mandatory to attach the last 3 months of bank statements, stamped and signed by the bank. The statement MUST be updated to a date no more than 1 week before the application date at the embassy. As of the 15th of any month, the current month’s financial statement must also be attached. (Time deposit statements are only supplementary documents and cannot be a substitute for the 3-month bank account statement).

  • A Bank Reference Letter (written in English) stating since when you have been a customer of the bank.

  • A school or university student certificate in English, stamped by the institution.

  • For a business visa, please attach: An invitation letter from the company in Korea (detailing the purpose of the invitation, business activities, time period, location, etc.), a scanned copy of the inviter’s Tax Payer Identification Number, and a scanned copy of the inviter’s Certificate of Business Registration.

  • Emergency contact information (Name, Phone Number, Relationship) and information on your latest education (Name of School and City).

  • For agency use: Color scan of the valid passport (also scan the endorsement page if there is a name addition) and a color scan of the photo. The size of each scanned document must not exceed 95KB.

Notes:

  • Single Entry: The visa is valid for 3 months (can only be used once) with a stay of up to 30 days per visit.

  • The processing time is calculated from the date the documents are submitted to the embassy, not from when they are submitted to the central office/agency.

  • The visa’s validity will begin from the date of issue / the date the visa is collected from the embassy.

  • Multiple-Entry: The visa is valid for 5 years (can be used any number of times while the visa is valid) with a stay of up to 30 days per visit.

  • Foreign nationals applying for a Korean visa in Indonesia must have resided in Indonesia for a minimum of 2 years and possess a KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit) or KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit).

  • The name on the visa will follow the passport’s identity page (the front page).
