Germany Visa Requirement

Requirements

  • Original new passport with a minimum validity of 6 months before departure, and the old passport. The new passport must be signed in the signature box on the last page. If a signature box is not present, a signature must be added on an endorsement page by the issuing immigration office.

  • Two (2) recent passport photos, size 3.5 x 4.5 cm, with a white background and the head taking up 70% of the image. You must not wear glasses, a hat, or soft lenses.

  • Original Sponsorship Letter from your current employer, on company letterhead with a company stamp. The letter must state your job title, length of employment, and monthly salary. It must also explain the purpose of the trip, the dates of travel (departure and return), and who will be covering the expenses. The letter cannot be signed by the person who is traveling.

  • If you are the business owner, attach a copy of the SIUP/NIB/Kemenhumham (Business License/ID/Ministry of Law and Human Rights approval).

  • Last 3 months of bank statements, officially stamped and legalized by the bank, and a Bank Reference Letter. (Time deposit statements are only supplementary documents and cannot replace the 3-month bank statement). You must bring an updated bank statement at the time of your biometric appointment.

  • Round-trip ticket reservation, hotel booking, and a detailed daily itinerary for your stay in Germany.

  • Photocopy of Family Card (KK), ID Card (KTP), Marriage/Birth Certificate, Name Change/Indonesian Citizenship Certificate (if any), or the official receipt for an ID card application.

  • School/University Enrollment Letter in English. An ID card alone is not sufficient; an official letter is mandatory.

  • If a child is traveling without parents or with only one parent, a parental consent letter legalized by a notary is required, and both parents must be present at the time of the biometric appointment.

  • Travel insurance with a policy value of at least USD 50,000 / EUR 30,000, which must include COVID-19 coverage.

  • All applicants are required to come to the VFS office at the scheduled time for biometrics, even if they have undergone biometrics before. You must bring the ORIGINAL Family Card (KK).

  • Mandatory Document Translation: The following documents must be translated into the required language (German/English): KTP, KK, Marriage Certificate, SIUP/NIB/KEMENHUMHAM.

Notes:

  • If the applicant is a minor and unable to sign, their passport must have an “Unable to Sign” stamp in the signature field, provided by the immigration office.

  • To secure an appointment, a payment of IDR 350,000 must be made in advance. This fee is non-refundable; if you cancel, the appointment fee is forfeited and cannot be returned.

  • The estimated processing time is a minimum of 45 working days from the date of the biometric submission.

  • The visa’s validity will begin in accordance with the dates on the flight ticket provided.
